At the age of 55, I decided to go on early retirement as the job that I had been doing for the last 31 years did not give me any satisfaction and only lead to a dead end.  I then thought that there should surely be more to life and that I don’t have to carry on working in an environment that did not feed my soul.

After much prayer and thought a decided to take a leap of faith and go for it!!. God gives each one of us a gift/talent and before I went on pension I had a vision/brief thought which I believe came from God, to use my creative talent and start sewing from home, in particular table runners, serviettes and pillow cases.  My daughter came on board and advised me to think about sewing Bible bags too as they are not available in South Africa, at least the type that we had in mind.

She also came up with the name for our brand, Ruth.  If you have a look at the story of Ruth in the Bible you will take note that she had to go through a lot of trials and tribulations but was rewarded in the end.  The message from her life is one of loyalty, love and perseverance.  In today’s life these qualities are so relevant to each one of us and especially to women.

We thought it fitting to use this name as our brand to give each woman a message that no matter what you are going through in life, God will always be with you and one often has to go through trials and tribulations to make you stronger in your faith and to grow stronger as a women knowing that with hard work you will always be blessed in the end.
